So many new choices to consider. I am not quite sure what I am going to do yet. Though, I suppose it is better to be overwhelmed than underwhelmed. ^_^

A conversation with an TOR-U student that might be interesting for others:

I had a couple of questions one is it okay to get rid of the storehouse and just use the warehouse or is the store house needed to keep learned research?

You need a storehouse if you want to build some buildings (as resource requirement is larger then what the warehouse can alone can take) e.g. walls

Oh and whats your take with the res boosting bulds you know the carpentry stonemason the kiln those types of things do you think it would be better destroyed and used for like cottages and that mage college thingy whatever it is?

This depends on the T2 buildings (those that consume resources) you will construct and your resource availability. So I cannot give sure answeres. You will properly not need all. But maybe now it is worth use the space for other things (after you have done the research). It also depends on the benefits that will be available of other buildings and how (much) you will use them.

i mean dont know if those buildings are needed as u get bigger or waste of space basically?

It becomes more important now to pick the right buildings at the beginning. But I will need to wait and see what is released before I can make any recomendation.

Hey my lady heard i was drafted into your neck of the woods iiiimmmmm sssoooooo hhhhaaaappppppyyyyyy just throwing it out there but i used to roadie as a clown so if youre looking for a court jester im your man anyway where was i ahhh yes i got a question about this crap with the minerals and the herbs and stuff is this just another way to delay the building of secondary res and slow the building of cities? Honestly i was wondering cuz this game really dosent have a lot of excitement to begin with but from what i can understand of the link they sent for the minerals it seems its just a waste of space to get the same equipment and stuff right? I mean no expansion room in the cities for the cotage only goes to one level seems redundant. I mean really when u think about its like the research thing i mean really you got so much to research but so little of it actually has an effect game wise dont know if im making sense in this but im trying to grasp the game mechanics that the powers that be are trying to do. Is all this gonna give my commanders a +12 sword of slaying or just to add more boring gathering duties. If so im not sure about my future in this game not understanding it yet hopefully my impression is wrong of what there trying to accomplish. Anyways thanks for your time like to hear an opinion if youre not to busy because i know as a leader you have a lot on your plate if you can kool if not kool to

In some ways you might interprete things correctly (migth be a delay). I do not think they will make the delay extremly long and cottages are properly build quickly. I have rather interpreted it like that: Small players that cannot participate in military conflicts anyway, maybe during the first year or 6 month of their Illyriad participation, have now an excelent chance to participate in the economic activities of this game (and not only get resource donations from large players). The update might create a "developement path" where new players can make a lot of cash (and trade it against resources they otherwise cannot possess (in large quantities)) for the new resources. During that time they can upgrade their weapon/armor and military and other facilities, depending on what they will specialise each city in (merchants, diplos, military). Larger cities will focus on advanced resource production and/or other specialisations. Also such upgrades do hurt large players the most because it takes a while to demolish certain buildings and construct others (particularly in the merchant section).
